Oborn’s Nautical opened in Christchurch in 1966. We

have been offering top of the line product and service

solutions to the marine/sailing industry ever since. We

specialise in custom boat fittings, masts, spars, rigging

systems, wires, ropes and splicing.

20 years ago we realised that the same systems that

we used every day in a marine environment could

also apply to many non-marine applications. Since

then, we have worked on numerous architectural

and structural wire and rod system projects across

New Zealand and overseas. We work with architects,

engineers, commercial fit out specialists, artists,

business and home owners. Our experience spans

residential, commercial and industrial work – design,

supply and install.

This event replaces the cancelled OBORNS NAUTICAL ESTUARY PENNANTS race 4.

Organised by the Oborns EP management committee formed from representatives of Christchurch Yacht Club, Mt. Pleasant Yacht Club and Pleasant Point Yacht Club.

Notice of Race

1.0 Rules

1.1 The regatta will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing.

1. The Yachting New Zealand Safety Regulations Part 1 shall apply.

2.0 Eligibility and Entry

1. The regatta is open to all classes.
2. All entrants must be financial members of a yacht club.

3.0 Schedule of Events

4.0 Sailing Instructions

4.1 The Sailing Instructions will be given at the Briefing.

4.2 There will be separate Junior and Senior starts 5 minutes apart.

All competitors attending the after racing ceremonies at the MPYC clubrooms will be eligible for spot prizes.

ICE MANAGEMENT TIPS: GET THE MOST OF OF YOUR ICE BOX!

1. Prepare box the day before use by cooling interior down with ice-brick.
2. A minimum of 1/3rd volume of the icebox should be ice (this should hold for days).

Understand that putting warm cans or stubbies into box will melt ice faster.
