About Us

1966 – Oborns Nautical was founded by Ted Oborn.

1968 - Grant Oborn joined the company and they soon outgrew it’s Riccarton Road shop.

1982 – Oborns Nautical moved to Nelson Street premises, which included a retail shop, workshop and sail loft.

2002 - The company’s success, along with a continually widening array of products and a growing clientele, resulted in a move to the current address of 49 Shakespeare Road.

Present - Oborns have worked hard to develop a reputation for their product range and the experienced know-how of their staff.
